Temporary Road Closure for Newport Road as part of Active Travel Scheme
From Monday 11th October 2021 for a period of 3 weeks, a temporary road closure will be enforced along a section of Newport Road, Caldicot. The proposal for this is in line with Active Travel Proposals and improvements set by Welsh Government.
Monmouthshire County Council has been working on proposals to enhance and improve Newport Road (from the petrol station to taffic lights) The aim of this project is to not only improve the area for visitors and local residents, making the area more attractive and more pleasant but also to improve safety concerns along the stretch of road. As part of the Active Travel proposals set out by Welsh Government the work will also improve walking and cycling routes around Caldicot.
